Blogging is such a chore. God knows how people can keep up with it consistently. I reckon that just like any other job, all bloggers should have an annual leave, just like what I did - a whole month without blogging and then BOOM!!...you come back all refreshed and ready for action again. So guys, here I go again...hopefully this year's entries would be just as CRAP as last year's....
This holiday has been nothing short but boring. No thanks to all those bloody friends who decided to leave the country and enjoy life somewhere else. Apart from the few glimpses of fun, I find myself working, working and working even more. My daily routine reads: Get ready for work, drive to work, work, drive back to work, reach home and relax from work, talk about work on the dinner table, work out , get ready for work tomorrow and dream about work in sleep. Notice how every action has the word "work" in it. Yea...thats why im so peeved off seeing my holiday flying by and im doing nothing but working.
Nevertheless, not all is bleak in Alex's world. Long gone are the days where I use to punch sheets of paper for filing or buy the usual BLT sandwich for my boss, now, Im actually doing more engineering work. Sizing drains, calculating runoff, writing reports, reading boring engineering manuals, drink beer.....you know, all the stuff that a true engineer would do.
The holidays for christmas was also great. I had the opportunity to join my cousin, Rachel, better known as that girl who won the airline ticket (Ps: HEy rach, if you're reading this, you're my fav cousin you know and i kinda want to go back msia...you do the maths) and some of her friend. We went to coromandel which was beautiful with all its sandy bitches and magnificent views. One beach in particular, aptly named Hot water beach, stands out in my mind. Its awesome coz upon arriving there, you see all these people with shovels conglomerating on a certain area of the beach. So we went to check it out and we saw people digging into the sand and soaking their feet into hot, steamy water!!...how awesome is that...not the water of coz but hot steamy people!!
We also did some kayaking, played some beach volleyball, tramping which was all good fun....ahh...good times....shortly after that, I went for another holiday, this time with my old man. It was a weekend trip to conquer Tongariro Crossing, rated as one of NZ best one day walks. Having climbed Mt Kinabalu, I had an arrogant sorta demeanor and rightly so as Mt Kinabalu aint your average bukit gasing. And the people in Sabah also aint your average joe, I mean look at Sean, his strong, fit, talented and he also owes me lunch now. Anyway, the climb was awesome. So many types of different terrain - rocky, forest, half rocky half foresty and gravelled. We were treated to beautiful views of emerald lakes, lush forest and cascading waterfalls. I'll let the photos speak for themselves:
The whole gang at the entrance
The seemingly never ending path

Looks like Mt Doom ay...theres some Uruk Hai on the foreground
The gorgeous legs..i mean lakes...shit..2 british girls in front of you doesnt really help while trekking
Me and me daddy (im the one on the left, just in case you didnt know)

Stunning view
Other than that, there was some BBQ's here and there and also we went to Kbox for sean's bday, which was fun hearing him singing like Ricky Martin (at this rate, you're gonna owe me a king's feast). New year's eve was great as we looked at some fire works launching from top of Sky tower and also some fire works on sky city hotel as a couple that forgotten to close the curtains was ...shall I say...getting to know each other really well.
All in all, I trust you guys are coping well ..please do post something in the chat box about your holidays and what not... heres to a great, wonderful and properous year for everybody ( I know we're 29 days into it already but what the heck). CHEERIO.
